Us ECPAC is strongly committed to bringing the best quality of Chinese music in all its many different styles and forms to all Tri-state music lovers. Formerly, enthusiastic amateurs or musicians who never studied either with a Chinese-trained musician or at a professional Chinese music school played most Chinese music heard in the U.S. Most Americans have never truly experienced Chinese music the way it was meant to be played and heard. At ECPAC, we hope to change all that. It is our mission: 1) To present, preserve and promote traditional and contemporary Chinese music 2) To provide information about the history of Chinese music and arts 3) To reinforce the cultural values of the Chinese American community and enrich its musical landscape 4) To introduce the broader American community to the rich melodies and diverse repertories of Chinese music, which has largely gone undiscovered in this country |
