Yang Qin - pipa Virtuoso Ms. Yang Qin, Master on pipa (4-stringed Lute), is an acclaimed pipa soloist and pipa instructor in China. A winner of many domestic Chinese musical awards, Ms. Yang Qin is a member of China pipa Research Institute and a member of the Association of Chinese musicians. Ms. Yang Qin began her professional musical training at age seven as a member of the Nanjing Little Red Flower Arts Group, the prestigious children's professional music training center in All of China. She completed her formal training at the Nanjing College of Arts, where she majored in the performance of the pipa under the pipa master - Zhou Jing Mei, the Head of the Pluck Instrument Performance Division. She served as a pipa soloist with the JiangSu Traditional Arts Ensemble, Eastern Culture Exchange Center, and as an instructor of pipa at the NanJing College of Arts. She has received awards from many Chinese domestic competitions and has toured many countries throughout Southeast Asia and Europe as a concert soloist. Much of her music has been broadcasted on music programs on radio and television in China and the United States. In the U.S., she has been involved in musical performances throughout the East Coast. She recently appeared at the Manhattan School of Music's "Week of Music Concerts" Program (NYC), Colgate University's "Concert Series 1997 - 98" (NY), Wesleyan University (CT), Oswego school of the State University of New York (NY).
